What is in a Terastal Festival ex pack?

Summary

Terastal Festival ex is a Japanese high-class pack released December 6, 2024, with 10 cards for ¥550 and the expansion mark SV8a. The official page promises a guaranteed Pokémon ex in every pack, and the set gathers Eevee ex with all eight of its evolutions as ex cards. It also has a large number of SAR cards, a few of them made through outside collaborations.

The Eevee family

The official page shows nine Eevee-line cards: Eevee ex, Flareon ex, Vaporeon ex, Jolteon ex, Espeon ex, Umbreon ex, Leafeon ex, Glaceon ex, and Sylveon ex. Eevee ex has the Stellar Tera type, and its Ability, にじいろDNA (Rainbow DNA), lets it evolve into any Pokémon ex that evolves from Eevee.

The same Pokémon shows up at more than one rarity, a regular card and an SAR for example. A search by name alone returns several different artworks for what looks like one card.

SAR and mirror cards

Among the SARs are a card newly drawn by Tetsuo Hara and one featuring a cake from a top chef. Separate from the regular cards, the set has premium mirror-finish cards with special foil treatment, along with new and reprinted ACE SPEC cards. Every pack is randomly filled, and the ¥550 price is the launch MSRP, not what packs sell for today.
