What came out for the Pokémon Card Game's 30th anniversary?

Summary

The main release is the 30th CELEBRATION expansion pack, launched worldwide on September 16, 2026. In Japan each pack holds six holo cards for ¥360, and every pack contains one Pikachu card. A premium deck set and the FUTURISTIC BOX came out the same day, followed by nine card sets on October 16, and each of those holds something quite different from a pack.

Inside the Japanese pack

According to the official anniversary site, the set has 30 holo Pikachu cards drawn by 30 different illustrators, plus 30 cards from the game's history reissued in a special finish. Those reissued cards are not legal in the current Standard format; they can be played only in formats where the original cards are allowed.

The set also introduced a new rarity, FUR (Futuristic Rare), with Mew ex and Mewtwo ex drawn by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN. Every pack includes one Basic Energy.

The FUTURISTIC BOX contains no packs. It is a battle-supply set built on YOSHIROTTEN's designs, with two Pikachu ex promos (one of each), two Pokémon coins, 12 metal damage-counter dice, 64 deck sleeves, a rubber playmat, and other gear. Pokémon Center Online is its only seller.

Lottery sales

In August, Pokémon Center Online ran an extra lottery for boxes of the pack at ¥7,200 and for the premium deck set. Entries were open August 28 to 31, delivery was limited to addresses in Japan, and boxes were scheduled to ship November 11 to 20. The notice also said an extra lottery for the FUTURISTIC BOX was under consideration.
