What do you need to buy to start playing the One Piece Card Game?

One Starter Deck. Each one holds a 51-card constructed deck that includes the Leader, 10 DON!! cards, and a playsheet, which matches the setup the official rule manual asks for: one Leader, a 50-card deck, and a 10-card DON!! deck.

Inside a Starter Deck

The first English Starter Decks, ST-01 Straw Hat Crew through ST-04, came out on December 2, 2022, at $11.99 each. All four have the same contents: a constructed deck of 51 cards drawn from 17 card types, 10 DON!! cards, and one playsheet. The 17 types break down into one Leader, two Super Rares, and 14 Commons, with some identical cards included for gameplay purposes. In Japan the same four decks launched together on July 8, 2022, for ¥990 including tax.

Deck rules once you build your own

The official rule manual (Version 1.11) calls for one Leader card, a 50-card deck made of Character, Event, and Stage cards, and a separate DON!! deck of 10 cards. Every card in the deck must share a color with the Leader, and no more than four cards may have the same card number.

DON!! cards pay the cost of playing cards. They can also be given to your Leader or Characters, adding 1000 power per DON!! card during your turn.

How a game is won

You win by winning a battle against your opponent's Leader when they have 0 Life cards left, or when your opponent's deck runs out. Each player starts by drawing five cards. The player going first skips the draw on turn one, and neither player can attack on their first turn.
