How much earlier do Japanese One Piece sets come out than English ones?

Summary

For most sets so far, the Japanese version has arrived about two and a half to four and a half months before the English one. OP-01 launched in Japan on July 22, 2022, and in English on December 2 that year. OP-17 cut the gap to six days in August 2026, so a months-long wait is no longer a given.

Set names differ between the two languages. AWAKENING OF THE NEW ERA is 新時代の主役 in Japan, and LEGACY OF THE MASTER is 師弟の絆. The set code, such as OP-05 or OP-12, is the same in both.

Does the earlier Japanese set have the same cards?

Almost, though not always to the card. LEGACY OF THE MASTER [OP-12] lists 128+1 card types in English and 127+1 in Japanese, and only the English rarity list includes one Treasure Rare. The Japanese page gives six cards per pack, while the English page does not state a pack count.
