Can you play Japanese One Piece cards at English tournaments?

Summary

Not in North America, Latin America, or Oceania. The English Tournament Rules Manual requires English cards for the Leader and Main Deck at every tournament event in those regions, and English or French cards in Europe. DON!! cards are the exception: any officially distributed DON!! card, in any language, is allowed.

What the tournament rules say

Section 2.4.1 of the BANDAI ORGANIZED PLAY Tournament Rules Manual (last updated October 17, 2025) states that players in North America, Latin America, and Oceania must use English language cards for their Leader Card and Main Deck at all tournament events. Players in Europe must use English and/or French. The same section allows officially distributed DON!! cards in any language at all levels of official events.

Japan's floor rules for licensed events (Ver.1.6.0, updated September 12, 2025) do not set a language for Leader or deck cards. They say players use the cards each event's regulation allows, and they also accept DON!! cards in every language.

Ban dates can differ by region

The banned pair announced on March 31, 2026, OP07-115 I Re-Quasar Helllp!! and EB04-058 Borsalino, parallel cards included, took effect on April 10 in NA, EU, LATAM, and OC. The English notice says the date would differ in other regions including Japan, where the same pair took effect on May 1. Both notices identify the cards by the same card numbers.
